At the age of 14 or 15 (depending on which bus or train company you use) you would normally have to pay the full adult fare.
The way it works is that Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council pay the other half of your fare to the bus and rail companies
Your b_line2 card is valid on buses and trains 24 hours a day, every day of the week, all year round.
If in doubt ask the bus or rail company or Call Derbyshire 08 456 058 058.
If you are between 17 and 19 and are in full-time education you are also eligible for a b_line card.
You must live in Derbyshire, although you can attend school or college outside the county to qualify.
It’s no good saying you have one, but it’s at home.
Please don't send in an application form for a new card unless your school tells you to do so, or if your card expires over the summer holidays.
If you have moved out of Derbyshire, your new county council may have a similar scheme running.
