There are two types of b_line card and which one you get depends on how old you are.
If you're aged between 11 and 13 you'll get a b_line1 card. It proves you qualify for a child fare and it gets you fab money-off deals and it's also your library card.
If you're aged between 14 and 18 you'll get a b_line2 card, that gives you half price travel on buses and trains in Derbyshire and great shopping discounts. It's also a proof of age card and a library card up until your nineteenth birthday.
If you’re an orange b_line1 cardholder you qualify for a child fare. You can show your b_line1 card though if you need to prove to the driver how old you are.
All silver b_line2 cardholders get up to a third off adult single and return fares on buses. You can also get up to a third off some saver tickets. These include:
Arriva – Local Saver (valid in Derby City) and Midlands Saver (valid in Derbyshire).
Bowers – standard daily and weekly tickets for trips in Derbyshire.
Stagecoach – Chesterfield dayrider and Chesterfield dayrider PLUS.
Trentbarton – Mango, zigzag, zigzag plus and Frio.
Some other bus operators may offer saver tickets – ask the driver for details.
If you’re a b_line2 cardholder, aged under 16, you may also be able to get further travel discounts. Make sure you get the best deal by asking the driver.
If you’re under 16 you get a child fare on all train services.
b_line2 cardholders aged 16, 17 and 18 get up to a third off local train fares.
Don’t forget you can also use both b_line cards to get discounts at more than 650 shops and other businesses. Plus you can use b_line cards to borrow at all Derbyshire and Derby city libraries.
b_line2 cards are also proof of age cards to show shopkeepers you are old enough to buy age-restricted goods.
