How do I get a b_line discount?

Find out which shops offer a b_line discount by reading the b_line mag or by searching the discounts online.
Don't forget your card when you're out and about because you can only get a discount if you show a valid b_line card.
Show your b_line card just before you pay and the business will work out how much money you get off.

I want a shop near me to offer a b_line discount - what can I do?

Tell us their name and address and we'll get in touch, send them some information and hopefully persuade them to join.

And for your trouble you might win a £20 voucher that can be used in lots of high street shops!

Can I use my card to get a student discount?

We've heard from some lucky b_liners that their b_line card has got them a student discount - even though the shop they visited is not on the b_line list of discounts.

This is usually because some shops already have a student discount and they may include b_liners if you show your card.

But you might find that some shops and services that advertise a student discount will only accept an NUS card - it is up to the shop, not b_line.

It's always worth asking, as many b_liners have found out!

Are discounts available just in Derbyshire?

No - some shops and businesses in surrounding towns and cities have joined the scheme and more are signing up all the time.

How much money can I save?

Most shops and services in the b_line scheme offer between 5 per cent and 25 per cent discount off their usual prices.

Others have special promotions and offers for b_liners rather than a set discount.

Can someone else use my card?

We're afraid not - only you can claim the b_line discount and your photograph will probably be checked when you pay.

Do I get the same shop discounts with a b_line1 card as a b_line2 card?

Yes - b_line1 cards get exactly the same business discounts as b_line2 cards.

The main difference between the two cards is that b_line2 cardholders get up to a third off local bus and rail tickets – b_line1 cardholders already travel for a child fare.

What if I lose or damage my card, or it expires?

You'll need to get a new card.
